Here is the final....AND I DO MEAN FINAL...version. It will have to be...the baby is already here. The picture is kind of weird looking, it really looks softer than that....but yes...it IS pink. I didn't want the quilt to be so "baby" looking.....just more "girly". I thought girly would enable more use for longer years.
I spent several MORE days mulling over the border. Nothing I put with it seemed to work........but wait.....what about all that fabric I cut up and ripped out? I decided to use up some of the mess I created by using all the strips..sewing them together random....regardless how wide they were. I think this will work ok.
This is a scrappy heart I plan on using on the back of the quilt somewhere. I love this "lil" heart.
This is just PRECIOUS! You make me want to try wonky hearts and letters AND crazy quilting all at once :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! looks like alot of hard work went into them.
ReplyDeleteThis is just so cute. I love it. What a good job Belinda. Its so unique too.
ReplyDeleteThat is so fabulous Belinda! Aww don't mind my ideas I throw so many up in the wind. I'm doing it for a seaside quilt which refuses to come out of my head and into fabric at the moment.
ReplyDeleteWhen I 1st saw that corner patch in the 3rd pic it looked like a Summer house complete with porch. It is beautiful hun. I'm sure she'll treasure it. :-)OOAK as they say on Etsy.
What an adorable quilt Belinda, you inspire us all.
ReplyDeleteThis will probably become an heirloom that she will pass on to her children.

I love your quilt! It came out so good. I like that you bordered each block with the pink to tie it all together. And the quiet blocks let the others shine. And I think that border is just PERFECT! It doesn't overwhelm - it just ties it all together. Excellent job! This will become an heirloom for her, I'm sure. And that little heart is so cute! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's a great quilt
ReplyDeleteOh Belinda it's beautiful!! I love the crazy patch, all the patches, the heart for the back is such a nice touch -- and the border is a stroke of brilliance. Everything about it has turned out so perfect!
ReplyDeletePlease do post a final 'Done Done' picture.
Cheers!
Dionne
oooo, I like your double pinwheels. They are a little bit different than mine. Very pretty quilt, she will treasure it for years.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time here, let me go look around a little bit..
I think the striped border ties in very well with the quilt. My favorite part of the quilt is the name; I would have never thought to add a quilted name!
