Hearts, Flowers & Song

I hope everyone is having a nice Valentines Day!

This is one of my completed blocks from my Friends of Baltimore appliqué quilt and I thought it fit in perfectly with the day.   So far I have finished 5 blocks of the 16 and I'm
close to finishing number 6.
I had "lofty" ambitions when I started this project last March.  My plan was to finish one block
per month…..LOL…..well, I accomplished "half" of that goal….
But I'm determined!!!
Life has had priority lately and I've worked on a few UFO projects in between this appliqué
project.  One needs a break from the "tiny" pieces involved on this quilt.

LOTS of Log Cabin paper piecing on a UFO I'm trying to get completed.

I decided today I needed one more row to add to the length and then I'm calling it quits.
11 blocks per row will take me a bit to get sewn up BUT it's nice
to know I'm so close to a finish on a project I started
YEARS AGO!

Time to stop standing and staring and get to it….right?

  1. Using small pieces is rewarding to me. I just hate to throw them away. I wish I had the patience to do applique again. I have three quilts started and just need to work on them again. Maybe this Summer when the heat and humidity get to me. Happy Valentines Day

  2. Standing and staring is one of the things I do best!
That is a beautiful block and so appropriate. : )
How big do those log cabin blocks end up--6 or 8 inches, maybe? I'm piecing some little ones and I'm beginning to think I should have paper pieced so they would all end up the same size!

  3. The applique is beautiful but I'd need to take plenty of breaks! LOL
The log cabin blocks look like a great diversion.
