I finally found these lost star blocks. Yippee!!! Cleaned up my sewing space one day and couldn't remember where I put them. They are from my Block Lotto winnings a while back.
I immediately started to play. Decided the purple star was my favorite so I stuck it up on my design wall and started from there. All the pieces except the stars are left over pieces from this quilt project. The black/white spikes are from my parts department ( ala Freddy Moran & Gwen Marston).
So far, this is what I have come up with. I really just want to stay with the big X design using only 13 of the stars. I need to figure out what I will fill in the rest with, but then again, I have only just begun to start playing with the design.
Stay tuned for updates.....who knows.....I may just mess this up and start all over!! HA!

ReplyDeleteThat is what design boards are for! Everything must be auditioned and sometimes we rearrange and rearrange.
ReplyDeleteAhh, the stars. What fun! Looks like you may have emptied out your "parts department". Can't wait to see what else will join in on this project. : )

ReplyDeleteThis one makes me smile! The use of so many components really adds to the spontaneity of those wonky stars. Keep it going, it will be super!

ohh coming along nicely - you have a good eye for design - can't wait to see what you end up with.
ReplyDeleteNow if I could just find time to get those pictures off the camera - for "someone's" surprise.
Okay, you are on a roll. My first thought was putting the red house blocks you are going to win along the outside border. Who says a red and white quilt is only red and white?
ReplyDeleteTotally love the marriage of stars and triangles!
ReplyDeleteIt looks almost like a game board--really fun and funky!
ReplyDeleteI like what you have on your design wall. can't wait to see what you add.
