I also need to get these sweet little Halloween panels 'sandwiched' and quilted. My friend Gail (no blog) sent me these last year and I miss-placed them for a while. Boy, was I relieved when
I found them.......LOL.....you know how we quilters are.....they were not where they should have been. They measure about 20"x 24". I think they will be great for machine quilting practice!

I want to spend a 'few' minutes thumbing through these today. I'm a pack rat when it comes to my magazines....I never get tired of any of them!! I have Country Living all the way back to 1982...LOL....hey, it's ok if you throw yours out....but, I think some of the decorating ideas still apply for today...especially for the different seasons. I keep them stored in monthly order so at a glance I can pull out a few that fit the month I'm in for a quick inspiration! And besides, the Country Living seems to have quilts on every page!!
I like your audition fabrics, they're all delightful. I think some pieces need to be stowed away for awhile to ripen; this one's going to be terrific!
ReplyDeleteAgreed; I have some magazines I recycle immediately but others I save indefinitely and re-read, and I have a couple of folders with individual pages saved for inspiration.
Super Halloween quilt!!! fun!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are really in the autumn/Halloween mood. Nice stuff.!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is going to be fun. And you look as if you are well on your way to resolving the block size variations. And I agree, those panels are so cute and provide good practice for machine skills. Will you have time left over after the quilt and quilting to carve pumpkins like those works of art in the magazine photo?
ReplyDeleteI love that magazine too. The tablescape is lovely and I'm sure my dog would love it too! Some things are just better left in the magazine.:)
ReplyDeleteI think your Halloween blocks are completely goolish! I can't wait to see them all set into a top.
What a great Halloween quilt, I like your coping strips already. I wish I had more room to store magazines but I end up having to cull them every so often or tearing pages out.
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween quilt . . . it's gonna be great! It looks like you've got some good ideas brewing.
ReplyDeleteI saved most of my Country Living mags for the same reason. But, I did throw a bunch out when we moved. I think I saved the oldest ones, with the most quilt pictures! LOL
You've got some beautiful ideas for decorating there. You'll show us pix when you get it done, right?? Hee hee!
Yay Halloween quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks.
I too love Co Living and fall decorating - have fun
It's going to be really weird this year not making a Halloween quilt at Halloween. I finished it in the summer!
ReplyDeleteLove yours.
I'm a sucker to magazines too. Got way too many and recently had a clear out. I think I jettisoned about 10!
Your quilt is going to be wonderful! I keep saying I'm going to make a Halloween quilt then don't get around to making it.
ReplyDeleteI love CL magazine too. I've saved a lot of the older ones, but they aren't showing as many quilts in the newer issues.
That was a great swap wasn't it? We were in a different group, so I'm enjoying seeing the blocks you ended up with.
ReplyDeleteMy quilt turned out HUGE, and I'm glad that it's all quilted and bound. I need to bring it out, don't I?
I sse my Halloween blocks! I am working on mine too, almost done. I agree it looked so great when a waited a while and then took it out. I love the black and white stripe. It is going to be wonderful. I save way too many mags!!
ReplyDeleteI think letting the blocks rest a bit is a good strategy. You have a nice selection! Love the way you use the nine patch as alternating blocks. This will be a fun quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour Halloween blocks look great! Mine are different as I was in a different group, but some of the quilters must be cousins as a few of my blocks are not quite the right size and one I can't even use, but can re-build a block with the fabric... and to be honest I kind of like the challenge of 'rescuing' something that someone (I hope) did try hard on and did her best...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you will have a lovely Autumn-y Halloween House if you use all those lovely ideas... love the carved pumpkins - what a lot of work!
wheee for Halloween! keep working on it!
ReplyDeleteOMG...I forgot about this project!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see all the different blocks. I like what you are doing so far to put it together and make them all work.
If collecting magazines is wrong, I don't EVER want to be right.
Those are really really great Halloween blocks. How fun! I like the Frankstein a lot, it reminds me of the green Fairy Frost I used for my witches. Gotta get those done!
ReplyDeleteI can't throw out my American Patchwork and Quilting mags--I have a good 10 years' worth! Thank goodness it only comes 6 times a year :)
That is going to be a really cute Halloween quilt when you are finished. I love the idea of different sized blocks. I do the same with my magazines. Just finished going through all my October issues and now will try to imcorporate some of the ideas I saw into my decorating. I agree with you - that tablescape is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou have some fun blocks there. And the ideas from the magazines are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSUPER AWESOME Halloween blocks...those will be fun to work with. I can't wait to see what you do with them!!
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,
Teresa :o)
I remember when you were working on those blocks. The quilt is going to be great when you get it together. I like the idea of the words too.
ReplyDeleteI need to get my blocks out. I have been wanting to do something with them now that my market projects are over. I feel like I need a fall shot in the arm. Yours are really fun. I've gotta get on that!
ReplyDeleteHi Belinda, thanks for stopping by my blog! I've been browsing around yours and I love your feed sack hexies! They are so cute! I need to start working on some take along projects and I think hexies may just be the thing! Either that or YoYo's! Thanks for the tip about Fort Worth Fabrics...I am off to take a boo!
ReplyDeleteI hate throwing away magazines but I save them way too long. I just don't have the time or attention span to go through them and pull out just the articles or pictures I really like.
ReplyDeleteYour Halloween quilt is going to be "spooktacular". I love all the different blocks and your border fabric sets everything off "boofectly". LOL
