I was needing those feedsack florals for more of these.....! I have loved working on these hexies through the summer...perfect carry along projects.....and believe me....all I seemed to get done this summer was the 'carry alongs'! Yeh.....'cause I was carrying myself here and there and then carrying myself here and there some more! My little hexie flowers are about 10 inches in size. Oh yes.....my hexies in the middle are chocolate brown.....they look sort of black in this photo!
And remember when I showed you this on my previous post???
Well.....here is what was inside!!! How wonderful!! Sharon from Indigo Threads Blog sewed up the cutest zippered bags. The black one there on the left is made from a vinyl type mesh (reminds me of screen door mesh only better) and the blue fabric band she added in with the rick rack is from some of her 1920's vintage...I.LIKE. The other one is called a humbug bag...I'm crazy over the odd shape. Great goodies Sharon....thank you soooo much! This is from a Pay it Forward....Sharon featured this on her blog a while back. If there is anyone who would like to participate....leave a comment and let me know. You have a whole year to complete your little projects.
Hey Belinda, I'm sooo glad you like the goodies! I had a lot of fun making these bags and putting the package together for you.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all those wonderful dots you bought. . . yum! And those feedsack repros are awesome! I'll have to check out that website.
I love your hexies! And I really like the brown centers - different and fun! I can't wait to see what will become of these little cuties.
Maybe now that fall is arriving you can find more time in your quilt studio.

Still got some tea pot fabric for you somewhere. Need to find it.

Your hexies have turned out so nicely. I'm teaching a GFG very soon at a local quilt store, and everytime I see a flower on a blog, I want to show it to others. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHey, we're twins--I bought dots today too! Looks like lots of fabric yumminess to go along with your lovely gifts and hexies. All smiles, I'd say.

ReplyDeleteyour hexies are lovely as is your prize package - enjoy!
What a nice surprise! Sharon did a great job. Your hexis are coming along. I'm sewing my rows together, it's not a quilt size but it will be finished! Love the chocolate in the center, great idea.
ReplyDeleteI am just getting into the hexie craze and in doing some research it seems most of the old quilts have the solids in the middle and print outside like you have done. Is that why you are doing yours this way or is that what makes it a grandmother's flower garden? I love the way yours are making up.
ReplyDeleteHow nice. I love the fabrics, too. My kind of fabric and that is a good price. I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteYour fabrics are beautiful!!! Also just look at all those hexies!!! CUTE!!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics, love those dots. Looks like you're making progress on the hexes.
