I was going through my photos and came across these and realized I had not shown the reveal after the 'sneak peek'. Shame on me!! Remember this teapot tutorial that Pink Penguin shared with us. I loved it so much I ran quickly and made one...and then two more. I turned this one into a cute little potholder!
Here is a showing of the back. Don't you just love the blue ric rac!!! This potholder was sent off as part of a gift.
This reveal was harder to photograph....long and skinny (like me.....ha!!) It's a nice table runner I hand quilted. I have decided smaller projects are harder for me to hand quilt. Smaller means they are 'light weight' and I have a harder time keeping in control of it.....does that make any sense?? Maybe I was just being weird about it.
I used a coordinating fabric for the back and I just love all of the different teapots and teacups. Click on the photo to enlarge and you can see some of the fans and cross hatch design I used for the hand quilting. Part of the fabric on the front reminds me of old handkerchiefs. This table runner was also sent off as a gift, but looking at it here.....I can sure envision it on MY table right now.
Hope you enjoyed the reveals and I'll try not to forget to reveal my other 'sneak peeks'!!
Your hand quilting is stunning as usual. These are both lovely!
ReplyDelete(You know, I thought there was a sneak peak or two missing.)
Your work is perfection. CUTE teapot potholder and YES I LOVE the rick rack. :o) Oh I'll just be you wish you had that gorgeous hand quilted table runner on your very own table.
ReplyDeleteOh, Belinda, I still need to make one (two, three...) of those teapot blocks! As soon as I am done with this deadline (which I am momentarily ignoring...), I HAVE TO make one (two, three...). Your hand quilting is wonderful on that pretty table runner! I understand the light project quilting dilemma--one must recalibrate when the variables change and there's nothing to grab onto.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet. I love tea related things.
ReplyDeleteIt's OK to be late because it just makes the pot holders live on and on. Beautiful work, and I love the blue ric rac too.
ReplyDeleteLovely as always - and I agree - the smaller pieces are definitely harder to handle when hand quilting - no weight.
ReplyDeleteI love the little teapot - and all the fabrics and rick rack - you are so clever.
I love the ric rac...and your teapot is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat teapot block is sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteYou know that you have to make a tablerunner for yourself now dont you:)
Oh yes, I can see that table runner on my table too!!! Its very beautiful. I enjoy handquilting and hope to get better at keeping my stitches consistent. My biggest problem is the stitches on the bottom don't always show up as nicely as the ones on the top.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought when I saw that tablerunner was that it looked like handkerchiefs. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteLovely work!! for some reason this has got me wanting to start making smaller blocks and hand quilting them to be put together later.. kind of like those quilt in a day projects.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really cute teapot. Blue and white always goes good together.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is stunning! It really makes a nice affect on your "long and skinny" table runner! I know that the recipients of your gifts are really lucky to have them.
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful. I thought at first the tablerunner was using old handkerchiefs. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteLovely stuff. I have done that too. Forgotten to finish the story.
ReplyDeleteHi, just calling in to say that the table runner looks stunning in my kitchen, so wont be going anywhere (unfortunately for everyone) LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pot holder is being kepy immaculate, the family have strict instructions that it's there for looks only!
Love the Spring clean pics, Tracey
