This orange/cream one sorta does a number on your eyes doesn't it. Not sure which 'era' this one is from, but it's only 35'' wide.
I'm REALLY 'digging' this Early American one. Seems I remember my 'Munner' having some curtains made out of this with some of that yellow/gold bouillon fringe sewn across the bottom. OOooouuu.....tacky-smacky!!!! ( click on this one to enlarge )
Not sure about this one either. It's kind of unusual though. I had to stand to the side and let the sun help 'show up' the lavender colored roses. You can hold it one way and you can't even see the lavender ones, but the blue and white flowers are sooo vibrant in person!
That's all for today. I hope you have enjoyed these little 'finds' of mine. You all would just not believe how clean-neat and tidy my sewing closet is now. I actually know where everything is.......Now that's a NEW experience!! I am still just hand quilting on this quilt.......
cleaning, sorting, organizing and getting my sewing room and closet in order.....and all the while I have been doing this, my mind has been awhirl thinking about what new project I might want to start OR which UFO to start on next. All I know is......I.Need.Some.Sewing!
Oh, my. These are the kind of fabrics I loved to wear as a teen. I made all of my clothes, and of course in the late 60's and early 70's all these bright florals were the rage. I made my very first patchwork quilt out of the leftovers from clothes I made, and my youngest son still has the quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sunglasses warning! Madge would LOVE a dress in that floral fabric. Cool early American one. My mother had couch throws with brown ball fringe for her avocado green sofa. That's not a look I'm missing. :o) Go forth and sew something...
ReplyDeleteDUDE!!! Those fabrics ROCK!!
ReplyDeleteI love vintage fabric. I can never bring myself to cut into it. It just seems like a crime.
Yes, my eyes still hurt from that razzle dazzle square one but oh my!! that flowered one is gorgeous... LOVE it!! wouldn't wear it for anything but I'd be willing to frame it for the wall.. probably would make great art work.
ReplyDeleteI. Need. Some. Sewing. Too!!! Loved your fabric finds!
ReplyDeleteahhh, what fun fabrics, love the red swirl!
ReplyDeleteI like the first floral one; the squares/orange print makes me dizzy!
ReplyDeleteAnd the Early American print is a classic :)
The first picture looks like something that "Madge" over at Stephanie's blog would love to wear.
ReplyDeleteAll certainly very different - love the floral - what for? - can't really see poor little Madge in it!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Lurline♥
Great fabrics. Hopefully inspiring. The first floral is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Wonderful - such fun to see what you have in there. I am all out of vintage - though I do look for some at the thrift shops when I go.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I didn't get a picture of your quilt that you are working on when I clicked the link. Probably something wonky about my computer again.. . . . . . . . or yet.
Boy, did I need the sunglasses! It is very bright and cheery!

Love the vintage fabric, brings back memories. Question? Where do you keep all this fabric. Do you have a warehouse?
ReplyDeleteThe early American one looks like wall paper that my brothers had in their room in the 60's.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the "blast from the past"! Love that floral fabric...I think me or my sis had some along the same lines. That orange/square spiral would be cool on the back of a quilt, and then use that pattern for the quilting pattern.
ReplyDeleteHow's the hand quilting going? Good job on the re-org...a big job, but well worth it.
I think you should go sew something too! Think of it as a reward for all your hard work on the fabric closet. You know you want to!
Sunglasses aren't the word - the top one is truly a hangover cure. BAM!
ReplyDeleteI love the Early American one. I think you and I have similar tastes in fabric (apart from having the same SoH!!!!!).
Hugs
Now that is bright!,,,but i love it!
ReplyDeleteJulia ♥
What an unusual set of fabrics. Maybe the lilac flowers are "painted" on? You have such pretty cups too. :-) Roses and tea just seem to go together so well.
ReplyDeleteNice fabrics. The top floral one is really cool... I like it!
ReplyDeleteoh wow i absolutely love the fabric in the top photo!!
ReplyDeleteWhat absolutely fabulous fabric. Hope you find time in the near future to make some fun quilty things with it.
