I like it when others let us have a peek into their fabric stash. Nanette always has a good 'Fabric Friday showing, so I thought I would be a 'copy cat' this Friday and show some of what I consider my fancy-er fabrics. The fabric above is my ALL TIME favorite fabric/toile, and unless I can find a selvage piece of it in my scraps I don't know if I can get anymore...I WANT MORE!
I took about 20 pictures of this one and this is the best one....I never could get the true color to turn out. I finally figured out that the fabrics that have a slicker finish, a sheen to them they tend to glare on every photo, anyway, this one is really sweet with the cherubs. This picture doesn't really catch the soothing green background in the right shade though.
And last, but not least, this luscious prissy fou fou kitty fabric.......sigh.......oh, to be a little girl again. Hey look, this one is flannel too!
Joann over at a Pieceful Afternoon has a cute post today all about making 'lists'. Go check it out!
And Lisa over at Git Down Kitty was so creative with the backing on her recent finished project!
You are so...lol...what lovely fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI too love the fou-fou stuff. But I just love, love, love the kitty cat flanel.
Isn't it a shame that when you have a piece of fabric that you absolutely adore...there's never enough to do anything with it?..When I find such a fabric, I hoard it like a miser does it's gold and if I do use some of it, it has to be a very special project, and I can't use too much because then I would have nothing left over to look at and admire and say...mine...mine...mine!....he-he-he-...I'm a wee bit nuts, but you've figured this out by now, right?...*LOL*
~~Fran...:c)
Eveything I get from you comes up dangerous, too. Our computers must not like each other. I open yours anyway, and nothing happens. I have no clue why it does that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the linky! I always get a spike in my visitors when you do that! :-)
I also love toile, and would like to have toile drapes someday. I think in black and white. Long enough to reach the floor, and tall enough to hang from near the ceiling. That would rock. Can you imagine how much that much decorator weight toile would cost???? That's why I don't have them now! :-)
Oh such pretties...love the pink and the aqua toiles. Now what are you going to do with your prissy kitty flannel???
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your fabrics with us. I love seeing what Nanette has on Fridays. Your fabrics are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the kitty fabric!
ReplyDeleteMy mom & I picked this exact fabric out a few years ago to make something for my sister. She loves cats. When my mom passed away a few months later, I made a gown from it & gave it to sis from both mom & me. I still have some left but I can't decide what to do with it. I'd like to make something else for my sister with it.
I love all your toile fabrics, they are so lovely and vintage looking...

Oh my. What a gorgeous collection of toile! They must be polished cotton..? I love the colored ones.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric. I would want a whole bolt of the first one. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI am also Toile fanatic. My master bedroom is decorated in cream & black toile. My guest bedroom is yellow & blue toile.
I also love your blue & brown toile. What are you going to do with it?
Gorgeous fabric's.. too pretty to use :)
ReplyDeleteThe pink toile is wonderful. I always wish I had some kind of magic potion that I could toss on a remnant and a whole bolt would appear. (I think I'd be a millionaire if I could figure out that formula!)Barbara
ReplyDeleteI love toile. I have some of that first one (I think it's Robyn Pandolph) and I can't bear to cut it. I have no idea what I'm going to use it for.
ReplyDeleteI love toile. In fact I have several of my living room chairs done in toile.
ReplyDeleteI think the first one is a Robyn Pandolf, too. If I had some I would share, but I don't think I got any of that one. It is too pretty to cut.
Beautiful fabric. I also love the toile. And the kitties are very cute.
ReplyDeleteI love all of the fabric. The kitties especially were so cute!

Thanks for sharing Belinda. I sometimes see toile style plates in the charity shops here- in pink, blue, green or brown colourways.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - you got some gorgeous fabrics in your stash!
ReplyDeleteI so love toile. It is just so classic. If I had the resouces I would do my living room in black and white toile with touches of red everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI love all your fabrics. This is a great idea because, one, it will make me refold my stash; two, I might just see a fabric that I had forgotten; three, I could make a quilt with some of my stash.......LOL....take care.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you showed - I also love the ones Nanette shows on Fridays - it always makes me want to shop on line! So your blog and hers could cost me a lot of money! Thanks for the great read! xo, The Other Nanette
