I have managed to sew up this little kitchen hand towel using the embroidery part of my sewing machine. It's terrible, but I forget that I have the embroidery part. Did I really give all that money for a sewing machine that has WONDERFUL features I forget to use??? If I had known I was going to get into quilt making AND LOVE IT so much, I could have just bought the Quilters version, right!!? My cute little granddaughter will sure be glad her "granny" didn't forget about her Christmas pillowcase.........so, I've just puttered around and I sure don't feel very productive!.......I better get back upstairs and unpack 2 more Santas to bring down on the next trip................maybe I should put on some Christmas music and see if that helps.........
For some reason I'm really in the holiday mood this year - some years it has been drudgery to get things out and do the decorating. Usually Don gets in the spirit first and I finally catch on. We have everything done except some decorations for the evergreen trees outdoors. I would start some baking but we have no electricity to one half of our house - and the electrician is not coming until tomorrow afternoon about 4. Wish he could come soon - the thermostat is on that side of the house and we are getting chilly. At least the christmas tree keeps the living room warm - good thing we decorated early.
ReplyDeletechristmas music definitely helps me. are we going to get pictures of all your santas? i love santa!
ReplyDeleteI love the santa fabric on your pillow cases. Makes me want to make a few of those myself.
ReplyDeleteHia Belinda, what about walking away from the whole crafting thing for even as little as half a day. tell yourself that you aren't allowed to sew a thing. bake, clean whatever, then hopefully when you come back to it you will be energised.
ReplyDeleteI thought the tree was so cute. :-)
I'm having a hard time getting myself motivated to decorate for Christmas too - it's still Halloween around here. Maybe that's a project I can tackle today!
ReplyDeleteSooo glad to hear that its not only me who is having a hard time to start the decorations this year... and hmmm... I´m doing exactly like you... Decided to throw all out on the second floor...and take one item down each time I went upstairs...and like magic...it will soon be done... lol..
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the luck with everything...and hmmm...I stil havent gortten to the tree yet...but I will...;o)
No decorations here yet.. since the kiddies grew up and left home I find it harder and harder to get in the spirit. I've even downsized to a 3 foot fiber optic tree and haven't drug it out of the basement yet. Shame on me :)
ReplyDeleteI do love the colors of that tree on the dish towel.. I need to use my embroidery machine more often.
Yes, go put on some Christmas music. In years past when I just could not get the mood that is what I would do. I would love to see your collection too.
ReplyDeleteDarling towel. I can't imagine how great your machine is! I can't believe it does that. It is hard for me to put out too much at Christmas because I know it has to come down. I'm weird that way.
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't have the motivation of DD I don't know if we would be so well decorated. I must admit she has done most of it, and I like it.
ReplyDeleteI can't get into gear at all. I'm wholly responsible for putting up the darn things, organising the greenery, decorating the tree and taking the darn things back down again. As it means getting the ladders out and nearly hanging from various beams to secure tinsle, cards and ornaments, I'm really not interested this year.
ReplyDeletePerhaps we're getting too old for it!
Sweet towel and pillowcase. Also, really enjoyed your cotton post.
ReplyDeleteCute towel and pillowcase!! I never really feel like decorating until I'm in the middle of it and then I get into it :)
