I picked a few more vintage repro christmas fabrics to have on hand. And I am just in love with polka dots. Who doesn't love polka dots!!! As I was scrolling through Jane's fabric selections I was like "oouuu, I don't have any orange and white....and oh, how about those green polka dots". I can guarantee you....I AM NOT polka dot poor!!! Thanks so much Jane!
This package arrived here not long ago too. Back in Sept....Quilt Pixie worked up a scrap swap for anyone who wanted to 'play'. You were to send as much as you could get 'stuffed' into a large ziplock bag. She paired me up with Brenda over at Scraps and Strings. Here is what Brenda sent me. She received my bag of scraps Tues. Wow, I was surprised it took two whole weeks for our packages to reach. I guess there IS some distance between Texas and Winnepeg Canada. Thanks so much Brenda.....I don't have much 'homespun' in my stash!
She also included this cute lil handmade scissors 'sleeve'. Perfect for when my scissors travel!
My featured 'san-tees' today are some I've had forever. The larger santa in the back is made from chalkware. The other 3 santas are made of plastic. I can't believe the one in front still has his original little wooden ski poles. Wonder how he made it through all these years without them getting broke?..Maybe he was such a fast skier no one could catch him!! He is one of my 'most-est' favorites!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of all those black and whites. The vintage Christmas collection looks fun too!
ReplyDeleteI never saw a polka dot I didn't LOVE. Great goodies and your b/w fabs are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteooo.. all the goodie fabrics! I'm getting excited to start on that challenge too.
ReplyDeleteLove your santas VERY much. Boy.. those two really have some RED Rosy lips.. don't they? :-D
I am so glad you like the fabric, can't wait to see what it turns into!! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's all about black and white after the red and green are put away! What neat fabrics to get you in to more trouble...

ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics - adore the Santas. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteThose old fashioned Santas are darling. I love the ones that look like they are from the 50's. Nice fabric. I've been pulling my black and whites as I work in my sewing room and I'm trying to put them together to see what foundation I've got to start this challenge. It will be fun. Nice fabric from Jane. She's fab.
ReplyDeleteIt took Pixie's swap 6 weeks to get here and about 3 for mine to get to her!
ReplyDeleteThose blacks are soooo lovely. Looking forward to see what they become.
Now if that lot doesn't get your fingers itching I don't know what will!

ReplyDeleteYour Santa with the skis is great! You have a great collection.
Those retro prints are just adorable. If I hadn't already dropped more money than I'd planned on fabric I'd be buying me some of what you've got!
