During and in-between coughing fits I did manage to get "Nancy's" (more on Nancy in a moment) quilt top all pieced together.
I LOVE this sweet little flower top!
SOOOO,
it's time for some borders.
Tell me which one you prefer. I think any of them would work but would like some help
in deciding. I have defiently decided on the purple as the first 'tiny' border.
Let me know your favorite!
I thought I was making this quilt for "NANCY" but as it turns out "Nancy" is
KATE!
Note to self: never trust a man (hubby) with the important details. It's HIS employees baby and so I thought he would know all the pert-nants! He told me her name was going to be Nancy and they were going to induce labor on the 2nd of this month.
None of it true!! LOL!
I had planned to maybe put her name on it somewhere!
Sooooo glad I got delayed and didn't sew the name NANCY on it already!!!
I do have a preference in the border choices but would
like to know which one YOU like.
( ooooo, these photos look more yellow than it is in person! It's much softer in tones)
hack!…….. cough!
My opinion and $2 might get you a cup of coffee, but I'll share anyway I think the yellow polka dot. Reasons - polka dots are prominent in the flowers and there is a lot of yellow in the background. The pink is distracting to me and the yellow stripe adds nothing - it comes across as flat.
ReplyDeleteI too like the dotty yellow.
ReplyDeleteI vote dotty too. I think it adds to the quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like the first photo with the dotty yellow. Would you then bind it with the stripe cut at the 45? It might be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI vote for #1!
ReplyDeleteI too like the dots. It's a very cute quilt!
ReplyDeleteI am with the group on this. The dotty yellow has spark! Very cheery for a baby.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the top one, the first one. Is that the dots?
ReplyDeleteI vote for the dots and the stripe cut on the bias for binding, This is super cute! Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI'll continue the stream of unanimous voting--the dots!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute quilt. : )
The yellow polka dots ... hands down!
ReplyDeleteI like the first one - a LOT - love the dots and the purple really sets it all off. They both pull the colors out in the flowers. Going to be a great quilt for Kate.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I am different. I like the pink stripe, but they all look good to me. I'd decide based on what I want to use as binding, and what the backing color is--such that the binding looks good with it too. It's going to be a pretty quilt no matter which one you choose!
ReplyDeleteI like the yellow polka dots for the second border. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteYellow polka dots...and quit coughing on me! LOL
ReplyDeleteYellow polka dots...and quit coughing on me! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe yellow polka dots look great with the quilt and I think it is the best companion to the purple narrow border.
ReplyDeletePink stripe is my vote. very cute quilt
ReplyDeletedotty yellow. Pretty quilt! Funny story about the name. ;)
ReplyDeleteI pick the yellow polka dot. It's all very cute. I've always wanted to make that pattern.
ReplyDeleteDots dots dots, polka spots! My DH is the same way--DH: Oh, so and so had their baby yesterday! Me: Was it a boy or girl? DH: I forget. Me: arrrgh
ReplyDeleteI like the dots too
ReplyDeleteI too, must have drank the yellow KoolAid, because I also think the yellow dots look best! Lovely quilt, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWell this is just crazy! Everyone, almost, is voting for the yellow polka dots...
