Making Progress

Yes, slow as I am, I AM making some progress on my recent project!

The center blocks hand appliquéd down with some sashings pinned around to get a feel
of how it will come together.

OH YES!

I LOVE how these unusual color combos work!

Prepping the appliqué pieces for the BOTTOM border.  All 4 borders
are a different design.

Here is the center of the BOTTOM border all stitched down.

I'm likin' this toooooo much!

The border and 4 center blocks instructions call for machine RAW edge with blanket stitch
appliqué but I opted to do HAND appliqué.

Sooooo, on this block of the month I will probable remain behind
because of the HAND appliqué.

I think that will be OK though don't ya think!?

  4. This really caught my eye! Stunning. I went back to your original post re not buying fabric as I was curious. Your reason being the price made me smile - here in New Zealand the average price is $30 per metre (1 yard 3 inches). As there is little competition our local quilt shop never has a sale! I too have taken the pledge to not buy and will try for a record like you!

  22. Oh my goodness, I have been missing out by not visiting more often. Thank you for following my blog.
I am putting together a list of blogging sisters that have embroidery machines. So, I'll be popping in to see if you are working on that stash of tea towels, LOL
    Have a great week,
Your old time follower and blogging sister, Connie :)

  23. WOW. That is all I can say.. stunning!! I love those colors too. We used to drive through AZ and NM on family road trips when I was younger, and those colors remind me of the Indian crafts we used to see. I just love it!!! And whoa that is a LOT of applique. You are so talented!

  27. Wow, this is gonna knock your socks off when you get done. What a fabulous job you're doing! I love the designs by Pat Holly and Sue Nickels. I think the hand applique will make it that much more special. And I think you're making great progress! If it were me doing it, I'd be 250 years old before I finished! (no exaggeration!) You are zooming along compared to me. (that's why I rarely do applique) Great job, girlie!
