Mini Quilt

COLOR........COLOR........COLOR...........that is what I was aiming for in this mini house quilt. I really think I accomplished that don't you!! I soooo wanted to use some of my new Kaffee fabric and I found some perfect pieces to go together.


I sooooo loved this piece....but....it too was sent off as a gift. I surprised my friend Gail (no blog) with this little 'thank you'. She has been so generous to me in this last year, sending all kinds of fabrics/books and quilting magazines she wanted to pass along as she sorts and cleans out her sewing 'pit'.


How cheery is this with all these snowy/icy/dreary cloudy days we have been having! Gail lives in Michigan and think maybe she had to pull out the ole sunglasses when this arrived...HA!


I don't know if you can see (click photo to enlarge)....but I used a blue thread to hand quilt this.


This was my first try at Baptist fan hand quilting.....hhhhmmm....the jury is still out on how I feel about them......I like the look, but doing the actually quilting.....well, I think I need to talk to you Tonya about how you do yours!

A little Kaffee scrap strip for the back.........and we're all done. I.LIKE. Hope you do too Gail!!

This little mini quilt measures around 14" x 19".

    what a cute quilt. it's darling and your quilting looks wonderful. wonderful. are you not happy with the outcome or the process? hope the latter because your results are great. not that I want you to be unhappy about anything. I'm going to stop babbling now.

    love the baptist fans. I'm going to do them on a couple of quilts that are currently WIPS. I've nver done them before but doing them freehand. LOVE it!

    I think the sunshine that mini quilt brings to Gail will help melt the Michigan snow. Very cute...especially all polka dotty. Love the stripe binding too. Very special with the hand quilting.

    Adorable quilt, I love Freddi Moran's wonky houses or any houses for that matter. Lovely quilting and the Kaffee fabrics are wonderful. Lucky recipient.

    I LOVE it!! Those corner stars are really teeny tiny if it is only 14 x 19". You go girl!! Love the binding too.

    I can guess she did need some sunglasses, but there was a great beeg smile on her face beneath them! Very fun mini, love it! I'm not much of a hand quilter, but Baptist fans always seems so popular that I'm sure I'll try it sometime--yours look fine!

    YES!! I truly do LOVE the new mini quilt which I was so lucky to have had made and sent to me!!! It truly could melt the snow, but I have not put it in the window.........when the Michigan sun comes out.........do not want to lose any of the lovely colors.     Wonderful use of color! What a fun piece. Your contrast in the value in your house block and your corner star blocks really keeps your eye moving around the piece.

    My my you have been busy! I love polka dots! I was looking for a Baptist fan several months ago. I was in a quilt shop and was all excited that I actually found one BUT
    it said Bishop fan! Don't know what the difference is?
