No fireworks here in my area this past weekend.....just Rain Rain Rain....about 5 inches at my house......BUT....I did jump into sewing up some of these cute little butterfly blocks I saw on
Nedra's blog Cactus Needles. Nedra saw them on
Amy's blog Mrs. Schmenkman Quilts . Amy then saw them on
Choccy Bangles blog.......well.....you get the picture. Just giving credit where credit is due...Something that seems 'lacking' in some other bloggers. It's just
good manners ladies!!!!
Butterflies are usually flitting around flowers aren't' they....sooooo, I chose floral print fabrics and I opted for chocolate brown for my background instead of the black. I love the black the other gals used but wanted to experiment with something different. I had decided I didn't like them at first...but the more I sewed up the better I liked them as a whole. I really like this pattern. Thanks sooooo much
AMY for working out the
pattern/tutorial for us!!!
Goober is growing and growing. He is waiting here for a scrap of fabric to fall to the floor so he can grab it and run!!!
...............He is just
too funny!

ReplyDeleteGoober is a cutie!
Lovely block. I like your take on it, the brown and the cute 30's makes it a bit softer. I am thinking of using this as my bee block for my month of swapping. With a light center, that would work well for a signature block?
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the links and credits. I agree with you, there!

ReplyDeleteYa know what??? these would be fun blocks sitting around to make a sweet little baby quilts...and I like your brown better!
ReplyDeleteThey are everywhere, rather like a growing swarm of bees or an invasion. I love them. Love love them. I want some too! When I say? I don't know. But I really really like your idea of chocolate brown. The dark background makes them pop.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in love with Goober! Is he a chihuahua? I have a black-and-tan one myself named Shadow Dante. He is my baby! I don't do much in the way of quilting, but I do sew and Shadow likes to bury himself under the pillows I make for my couch! Does Goober bury himself, too?
ReplyDeleteReally...how could anyone resist those huge ears and eyes?
Your blocks are fantastic and goober is stinkin' cute!
