SANTA CLAUS KNOWS HIS FABRIC....

Santa Claus decided that since I have been on a roll with my sewing and quilting, that I might need these 'goodies' early. WOW, what a wonderful surprise!!! And I must say....Santa knows his way around a fabric store. Look at the new lighter colored cutting mat. I guess santa really was listening when I would whine about how hard it was to see my cutting ruler markings sometimes....especially at night. He even heard me comment ( numerous times ) on how expensive the blades were for my rotary cutter......so, he included this little gadget to help sharpen my old blades ( anxious to see if it really works ). Santa said he had a really hard time picking out the fat quarters. Very hard to decide, he liked them all, but he knew I was into the 'wild' stars right now so he tried to include some 'bright' ones ( believe me....he did.....in the future, I will post some of the ones that are in that large bundle......keeping in mind....he IS a farmer man). THANK YOU santa......he said he would let me pick out the much needed new 'sewing room tv'! YEAH ME.. ( only because when I make him come upstairs to keep me company while I sew.....he doesn't like my old one that the remote doesn't even work anymore). WOW, I must have been very good this year!! Smooch-Smooch Santa!!

Here is my 'Major Award' I won over at Freda's Hive during her blogaversary week. My goodies arrived Monday and I was as giddy as a little school girl. Since I was the 'first' pick winner...( yes, I hear some of you gnashing your teeth )...I picked the japanese fabric charms and japanese project book. I love these!! Sweet Nanette also included one of her teeny little house ornaments she made along with this wonderful linen teacup kitchen towel. I'm so loving the pale blue polka dots she trimmed it in. I'm assuming the teacup fabric is japanese too. Thank you so much for your generosity Nanette!!

I also won this cute little pile of colorful fabrics at Colorful Art Girl blog. I didn't even know there was a drawing when I left a comment!

This group of santas are my 'House of Hatten' collection. They are from the 80's and are meant to look like wood carvings, but they are kind of like a heavy paper mache. I think my favorite is the one in front with the reindeer!

This is going to be my last post...( maybe )...until after the new year. I want everyone to know how much I have enjoyed blogging and meeting EVERYONE of you. I have had THE best time since I started blogging back in June. Quilting bloggers are the best in the world. I've laughed, cried, lurked around a bit and have just basically learned TONS. I have only started quilting in the last year and have been amazed at how willing everyone is to help and share their ideas and encouragement when you need it the most.....anytime day or night...( even at 4 in the morning....right Melanie?? )...help is there when you need it most. The best support system I have ever seen. WARM FEELINGS OUT TO EVERYONE, especially my loyal followers...( and you know who you are )...and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO!

P.S. I have had numerous emails about the little stars I have been making.....I have worked up a little tutorial on them and shortly after the first of the year I will do a posting and show you how to make some of your own..........until then......peace be with you!

It's been terrific getting to know you Belinda and your blog never fails to make me smile. Looking forward to seeing what you create in 2000!

  9. Wow, Santa is my hero. Wheee, hope you'll have lots of fun with these. I have one of those blade sharpeners and it works well for regular wear and dullness - haven't really damaged a blade and tried it. I can't believe you've only been quilting this long - you're amazing. Merry Christmas!

  17. Mr. Cottage ah um I mean Mr. Santa was very good to you. Love the fabrics. How could santa go wrong? I have one of those blade thingies and I have had trouble getting it to work. Maybe you can let me know how to do it. I love the cutting mat!!! I love it. I've never happened up on one in light green. I have a big mat that fills my table but it isn't very old so I'll keep on cutting but you can be my next one will be a different color. So glad you like your "major award"! haha I Love the "Christmas Story" and Ralphie. I watched it on CHristmas eve. So fun.

Take a break. I'm sorta taking one. I get bored though with one thing and have to switch to another. So I thought I'd check my favorite blogs for a bit. It has been so fun getting to know you this year. I'm so glad our blog paths crossed.
