A Busy 'Break'...

Does this really look like I have been on a break.......cutting and cutting and cutting...........

AND cutting and cutting......and then some sewing and sewing a bunch of these............

And all that cutting and sewing turned into this..........

And.........yes, this!!!!!..................................
Both of these 'throws' have 8 inch blocks. The whole 'recipe' calls for 99 of these....which I busily sewed and sewed until I had enough......but when I finished it WAS HUGE. I had enough to lay out 2 quilt tops with 6 x 8 squares in each. The above picture shows one layed out on a double bed. I think by the time I get the borders on each one they will be a NICE size throw. I have TONS of green colored fabrics and have been wanting a fallish style throw for Fall.....but after this was all said and done I don't think I brought my green pile down but maybe by an inch in height. DARN! I hate that when that happens. The pattern I chose is 'Star Struck' from one of Bonnie's over at Quiltville.com. The next one I am working on is her 'Cathedral Stars'.....ooouuuu.....lots of pieces to that one!!!

Ok, I think I am off to the 'big city' today......Mr. Brown Dirt keeps asking if I'm ever going to the grocery store again!!!

TIME FOR A BREAK...

Yes, it is time for me to take a break. I have full filled my Tea Swap obligation and as far as I know I don't have any other loose ends. I am anxious to get back to my 'quilty' projects that I have missed doing soooo much. I just feel I haven't been very productive these last few
months and it's time to change that. You may hear from me and then again you may not. I may have my computer on and then again I may not. So, let's just say....I'll see ya when I see ya!!

If you want a good read...go here! When to 'scrap a scrap' post by The Yankee Quilter!! Scroll
through her blog, you won't be disappointed! She always makes me laugh!!

'Found Fabric' Friday

It's already Friday again, can you believe it!! Get your sunglasses on to view this 60's or 70's vintage fabric find of mine. There are no cutesy 'kitcheny' fabrics in this showing today. Seems like I remember my mom wearing a sleeveless blouse made out of this one.

This orange/cream one sorta does a number on your eyes doesn't it. Not sure which 'era' this one is from, but it's only 35'' wide.

I'm REALLY 'digging' this Early American one. Seems I remember my 'Munner' having some curtains made out of this with some of that yellow/gold bouillon fringe sewn across the bottom. OOooouuu.....tacky-smacky!!!! ( click on this one to enlarge )

Not sure about this one either. It's kind of unusual though. I had to stand to the side and let the sun help 'show up' the lavender colored roses. You can hold it one way and you can't even see the lavender ones, but the blue and white flowers are sooo vibrant in person!

That's all for today. I hope you have enjoyed these little 'finds' of mine. You all would just not believe how clean-neat and tidy my sewing closet is now. I actually know where everything is.......Now that's a NEW experience!! I am still just hand quilting on this quilt.......
cleaning, sorting, organizing and getting my sewing room and closet in order.....and all the while I have been doing this, my mind has been awhirl thinking about what new project I might want to start OR which UFO to start on next. All I know is......I.Need.Some.Sewing!
